Lanterns on the Water

The pond at Constitution Gardens is a deep green color and is truly a pond. Visited by geese and ducks. Thoroughly visited. The lanterns, hands, and faces reflect in its mostly still water. The Washington Monument, over five blocks away is also reflected in its still waters. It is a lovely place to hold this event marking the end of school and the beginning of Summer. It is also lovely to see all the collected lanterns gathered in one place, floating alongside older siblings' lanterns, still treasured.

  1. I think is one of the most beauctiful traditions to mark the end of school year I have ever come across. Long live the lantern launch! Thanks so much for allowing us all to enjoy this wonderful occasion.
